This is our main service. Micro economic loans alleviate poverty, help the needy help themselves and promotes entrepreneurship in successive generations!
TMP currently has this program going with volunteer workers on the ground in Uganda who are excited to give their time while we pay their expenses.
Our program has been in operation since 1999 with considerable success.
1. In Kampala, Uganda we fund loans to entrepreneurs. Commercial micro-finance organizations charge outrageous interest rates, with compounding policies that enslave the small business owner. Our approach, in contrast, builds diaconal care into a loan package with low or no interest, depending upon the loan recipient's situation and needs. 0 interest to the poorest enterprises, and 2% APR to those who are minimally established and need a capital boost. These loans go from $250 to $2,500. If this interests you, Call 618-559-3541 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Currently (early 2017) we want to lend to 5 new applicants in this category. The list changes monthly.
2. In a village, you can help provide work, fellowship and provision for widows’ gardening on their own or on church property. Our in-kind loans equip them with quality seeds, hand-tools and soil improvement as needed This project in the name of Christ through His Church will help them! Ask and we will send you specific information.
This program is also applicable to regular but poor farmers who have only one or two acres to cultivate. We have two piggeries from which are loaned pregnant mama pigs to these farmers. These farmers repay with pigs after their herds develop. They have to grow the food for their animals.
