Micro economic loans alleviate poverty, help the needy help themselves and promotes entrepreneurship in successive generations!
TMP currently operates with volunteer workers on the ground in Uganda who are excited to give their time while we pay their expenses.
Our program has been in operation since 1999 with considerable success. Several things for you to be aware of...
1. Commercial micro-finance organizations often charge outrageous interest rates with compounding policies that enslave the small business owner. Our approach builds diaconal care into a loan package with a low fee and no interest to those who are minimally established and need a capital boost. These loans go from $50 to $1,500. If this interests you to support us, Call 618-559-3541 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and see below for donation options.
2. If it is said over here in the US, "a loan so small as above cannot possibly do much good," the recipient in Uganda would say, "Not so. It has helped me work out of impoverishment!"
3. This is a small program, a mission of economic development through the church. In the last 18 months we have administered 34 loans, all of which either have or are being repaid.
4. At the present time most of our work is in seven villages and in Kampala the capital city. The loan recipients are members of Presbyterian churches. They meet on a montly basis to provide support to one another, work on problems that come up and pray for each other.
