I go to Uganda, East Africa each year. With Ugandans in 1999 I started an economic development service to work through their churches. My church in Carbondale, Illinois, which I serve as its mission pastor, is the anchor church. We call the program The TentMaker Project (TMP). The name comes from Acts 18:3. TMP is a humanitarian Christian work that operates through qualified Presbyterian churches in Uganda.
Our service is micro-finance loans to boost existing tiny businesses including village farmers. We promote responsibility, lend to boost and they repay. Educational assistance has been a smaller and related service.
As of 2019 this Educational Assistance is branching off into a separate ministry for two main reasons: It deserves more and better administration and attention, and The TentMaker Project needs a more clear focus on economic development through the church.
This site will announce future changes. If you have supported Educational Assistance through TMP, we thank you, and we want to help you make transition to this new and separate help to the schools and children in Uganda. For now continue to give through TMP.
Thank you so much for your heart and help, and your prayers.
J. Wyatt George, Executive Secretary
